Introduction to the capabilities of the boom lift

The boom lift is a unique high-altitude lift that provides operators with excellent maneuverability and operational flexibility. Because the humerus is long and adjustable, cantilever lifts widen farther in a single direction than other types of aerial lifts.

When you have to access inaccessible areas and reliably raise staff and loads, a rental cantilever lift is a versatile and efficient aerial lift. They come in different sizes, relative heights, net weights, and working capacities, each solving a corresponding problem and suitable for a particular application.
If this is also your first time renting a cantilever lift, you must know the two key types of this type of aerial lift and the differences between them:
Straight (Telescopic) Boom Lift: A straight boom lift has a straight but retractable arm, which means the boom can widen and retract from itself like a spectacle. The straight arm lift has a large relative height and volume, and many models and specifications can reach more than 120 inches. The crawler chassis also has an excellent range of horizontal flexion and extension, allowing you to access areas that otherwise cannot be reached by elevators that widen only vertically.
Articulated cantilever lifts: Articulated cantilevers are different from straight cantilevers because they are fixed or hinged up and over obstacles, giving reach in narrow locations. Splice screws are ideal when you have to tumble over objects into the work area. Many articulated telescopic boom mockups also have a jib – an additional fixed service platform that allows workers to move side to side and/or up and down. Some splicing screw models can be up to 100 inches in size.
In addition to the two categories of cantilever lifts, you also need to consider the specifications of the cantilever lift. When scientifically researching the strength of a cantilever lift, there are four “sizes” or working capabilities that must be considered:
Relative height: vertical length
Category: level category
Net weight: how much net weight the service platform can carry
Specifications: Dimensions and overall width of the service platform
How big can a boom elevator be?
How far a cantilever lift can go depends on the manufacturer and the specific model specifications.
How much net weight can a boom elevator carry?
It is especially important to grasp the net weight that a cantilever lift can carry. When deciding on a jib lift, know exactly how much net weight you have to carry so you can choose the right jib lift for you.
The net weight working capacity of a cantilever lift lies in whether it is a hinged or straight arm lift.
What specifications of boom lifts do I need?
When deciding what size cantilever lift you need, it is critical to have your exact relative height specification in order to safely meet your reach requirements. Measure exactly how big you have to be, then pick a cantilever lift that will cover at least that relative height, and add a little more. When accurately sizing a cantilever lift, you also need to take into account the range of needs – the range of capabilities you want – which you can get based on straight or articulated cantilever lifts.
