What Are the Main Components of A Truck Mounted Crane?

The truck mounted crane is a kind of equipment that realizes the lifting, slewing, and lifting of goods through a hydraulic lifting and telescoping system, which can be operated left and right, rotate 360 degrees forward and backward, and rotate in all directions, and is usually assembled on the truck. As it is widely used in municipal construction, coal mining projects, landscaping, and so on, it has become the current hot crane equipment for lifting and transporting infrastructure materials and other equipment. Boom and telescoping mechanism

The crane boom is generally composed of two to six sections of boom segments, and the boom can slide in the basic boom driven by the telescopic mechanism. While the telescopic mechanism of the truck mounted crane is made up of five double acting single stage cylinders and their supports. The telescopic cylinder is equipped with a counterbalance valve, which ensures a smooth telescopic boom and is used to prevent the boom from retracting due to external force when the hose is accidentally ruptured.

Luffing mechanism of the crane

The luffing mechanism is driven by the luffing cylinder, which is used to adjust the elevation angle of the boom and cooperates with the boom telescoping mechanism to change the working range. The luffing cylinder is also equipped with a counterbalance valve, which can ensure the smoothness of the luffing movement, control the speed of the luffing movement and prevent accidents when the hydraulic hose ruptures unexpectedly. The first luffing mechanism is driven by the first luffing cylinder to adjust the angle of the inner arm, and the second luffing mechanism is driven by the second luffing cylinder to adjust the angle of the outer arm relative to the inner arm.

Slewing mechanism and slewing support

The slewing mechanism is composed of a hydraulic motor and slewing reducer, which can push the slewing table to rotate continuously. The slewing support consists of an inner ring, an outer ring, and a ring of wear-resistant steel balls clamped in the middle, the inner ring is fixed on the outrigger, the outer ring is fixed with the crane's turntable and is driven to rotate by the slewing mechanism.

Truck mounted crane operating mechanism

The operation mechanism is mainly composed of the up and down manipulation valve and the manipulation handle installed on both sides of the frame. There are signs indicating the action of each hydraulic actuator and its action direction on the mounting bracket of the handle, so the operator should operate according to the signs in the corresponding position.

Truck mounted crane outriggers

Generally, the crane will be installed with legs, and there are two kinds of legs: movable legs and fixed legs. The movable outriggers are composed of horizontal outriggers and vertical outrigger turning mechanisms. When the vehicle is running, the movable outrigger will be contracted in the fixed outrigger box, and the outrigger will be opened only when the lifting work is carried out. It is the role of the outrigger to disperse the gravity of the whole vehicle to ensure the smooth progress of the lifting operation.

Power take-off device of the crane

The power take-off device is mainly composed of power take-off, connecting shaft, gear pump, etc. The power from the engine is transmitted to the extractor through the clutch and transmission, and the extractor transmits the power to the oil pump through the connecting shaft, and the oil pump outputs hydraulic oil to drive each hydraulic actuator.
