Scorching sun, torrential rain, strong winds, and severe cold - adverse weather conditions are the number one challenge for construction machinery.
The BOB-LIFT full range of products (road cranes, marine cranes, aerial work platforms, and truck tailboards) have undergone extreme environment tests and are equipped with comprehensive safety systems, ensuring stable operation under various weather conditions.
This guide provides operational tips and safety recommendations for four typical weather conditions.
High temperature weather
Risks: Excessive oil temperature, reduced operation speed, component aging
Equipment configuration: Truck-mounted cranes are equipped with efficient cooling systems + high-temperature-resistant seals
Operational points:
Start-up inspection of oil level, clean the radiator
Monitor oil temperature during operation, stop and cool down if necessary
Reasonable arrangement of rest breaks
Replenish lubricating grease after shutdown

Heavy Rain and Wet Conditions
Risks: Electrical short circuits, metal rusting, leg subsidence
Equipment Configuration: Marine crane with waterproof technology for lowering (IP67 protection + double-layer anti-corrosion)
Operation Tips:
Dry the electrical connectors and inspect the wiring harness
Place steel plates or road base boxes on soft ground
Keep the vision clear
After parking, drain the water, apply anti-rust oil to the piston rod

Strong Wind Weather
Risks: Load swing, boom vibration, high-altitude operation hazards
Equipment Configuration: Aerial work platforms are equipped with wind speed sensors + rotation brake valves by default
Operation Points:
Stop high-altitude work when wind speed exceeds 6 levels
If work must be carried out, the load should be reduced to below 70%
After parking, lower the boom to the lowest position and secure it
Avoid positions near wind vents
Low Temperature and Extreme Cold
Risks: Difficulty in startup, sealing brittleness, steel cold cracking
Equipment configuration: Optional low-temperature package (cold-resistant hydraulic oil/sealing components, heating device, etc.)
Operation points:
After startup, idle preheating for 10-15 minutes
Prohibit rapid starting and stopping and impact operations
Clear ice and snow from the boom and wire rope
Empty the hydraulic oil in the boom after parking

Special Instructions for Tail lifts
Rainy days: Anti-slip, preventing goods from sliding, preventing water corrosion
Low temperatures: Preheating when empty, checking for stuck parts, do not forcibly lift frozen goods
The equipment is reliable, but the operator's awareness is even more crucial:
Pay attention to weather forecasts and plan ahead
Conduct a comprehensive inspection before each operation
Shorten maintenance intervals during adverse weather conditions
Master different operation techniques for different weather conditions
